The Edmonton Police Service is searching for a male suspect allegedly responsible for brandishing a pistol and shotgun, during a pair of violent incidents that occurred late Monday evening and early Tuesday morning.
Downtown Division Patrol members responded to a weapon’s complaint at approximately 11 p.m. Monday evening, at 105 Street and Jasper Avenue. A male suspect driving a minivan reportedly pulled up next to another motorist stopped at a red light, before pointing a hand gun at them. The complainant fled the area and called police to report the incident.
A couple of hours later, at approximately 1:10 a.m., Tuesday, May 14, 2013, EPS Southwest Division Patrol members responded to another weapon’s complaint at a motel near Calgary Trail and 66 Avenue. In this incident, the hotel front desk clerk had asked a group of people causing a disturbance in the parking lot to quiet down, when he a male suspect reportedly retrieved a shot gun from a nearby minivan and pointed it at the complainant.
The suspect also appeared to be carrying a hand gun in a waist holster, at the time of the incident. He then fled the scene in the minivan, accompanied by another male and two females.
Investigators believe the same suspect is responsible for both incidents. He is described as being an Aboriginal male, bald, 30 to 35 years of age with tattoos covering both arms.
The suspect was last seen driving a red Dodge Caravan with a Saskatchewan licence plate number of 449-HEQ.
