A serious collision that left a teenage girl in hospital last night has the Edmonton Police Service (EPS) Traffic Section looking for witnesses.

On Thursday, March 28, 2013 at approximately 11 p.m., a 2007 dark grey Suzuki SX4 SUV, carrying four females in their late teens, flipped onto its roof after colliding with a white 2009 Ford F350 in the area of 23 Avenue at the Smith Crossing Bridge.

A female passenger in the SUV sustained severe but non-life-threatening injuries. The female driver and two other occupants in the SUV were taken to hospital as a precaution.

The lone occupant of the Ford F350, a 43-year-old male, did not sustain any injuries.

The EPS Major Collision Investigative Unit (Traffic Section) is leading the investigation.  Icy road conditions may have been a factor, however it is still under investigation.

Staff Sgt. Gary Lamont, of EPS Traffic Section, is urging anyone who may have witnessed the collision or events leading up to the collision, to contact the EPS at 780-423-4567or #377 from a mobile phone. Anonymous information can be submitted to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or online at www.tipsubmit.com/start.htm
