It was reported that the first B&E occurred on Aug. 31, 2014 at approximately 3 a.m. at a townhome located in the area of 62 Avenue and 178 Street. The female complainant reported to police that she and family members were awakened by an intruder in the home. The suspect fled the home when the residents in the home yelled at the suspect to leave before attending the main floor of the townhome. A suspect description was not available.
On Sept. 3, 2014, it was reported to police that at approximately 3 a.m. an intruder, believed to be a male, entered a home at 69 Avenue and 180 Street and fled the home after the residents had been woken up by their barking dogs. Some items that were being stored outside were stolen from the home. A suspect description was not available.
On Sept. 12, 2014 at approximately 1 a.m. SW Division patrol members responded to a B&E that had just occurred at 98 Street and 79 Avenue. The female complainant reported to police that she was woken up by a strange male that entered her basement bedroom. The complainant called for help to a family member in the home and the suspect fled the home. The suspect was described as a Caucasian male, in his 20’s, wearing a dark hoody, baggy jeans and of a thin build.

Although most home B&Es occur during the daytime hours when residents are not home, the Edmonton Police Service encourages home owners to take all precautions to secure their homes by keeping doors and windows locked at all times.
