The victim has been identified as Arthur Barry McCaskie, 55, of Edmonton.
The Medical Examiner conducted the deceased's autopsy on the afternoon of Tuesday, April 22, 2014. The death was determined to be homicide, and the cause of death was blood loss due to a stab wound.
Joshua Allen Letendre, 28, was charged with second degree murder on Tuesday, April 22, 2014.

Background:
EPS officers responded to an alleged altercation in the area of 160 Street and Stony Plain Road at approximately 11:30 p.m. on Monday, April 21, 2014. One male sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead on scene by attending EMS members. The other male fled and was apprehended by police a short distance away. Police interviewed the 28-year-old male as well as several witnesses who were in the area at the time of the incident. The incident did not appear to be random.
