Background:
EPS issued an Amber Alert for the 40-year-old female, who was abducted in a stolen vehicle last Thursday evening near 118 Avenue and 91 Street, after learning that the female was blind and non-verbal. The vehicle was left idling outside of a store, while her caregiver ran inside to make a quick purchase.
The stolen 2013 white Toyota Sienna van was discovered by an off-duty RCMP officer parked and still running on a street in Fort Saskatchewan shortly thereafter. The female complainant was found safe and unharmed inside the vehicle. Once on scene, EMS transported the woman to hospital purely for precautionary reasons.
