EPS investigate serious single-vehicle collision on Groat Road

The Edmonton Police Service (EPS) is investigating a serious collision on Groat Road that sent a woman to hospital with life-threatening injuries. At around 10 a.m. today, Saturday, Sept. 16, 2023, EPS Major Collision officers were dispatched to a single-vehicle collision that occurred on Groat Road. It was reported to police that the driver of a Mini Cooper was travelling northbound on Groat Road, just passing 115 Avenue toward the bend in the road, when it subsequently collided with a tree on the east curb. 

The 43-year-old male driver and a four-year-old child who was secured in a car seat in the rear of the vehicle, sustained non-life-threatening injuries. The other rear passenger, a 43-year-old female, is in life-threatening condition.  

Neither speed nor alcohol were factors in this collision. Major Collision officers continue to investigate.
