Police make arrest and recover vehicle in recent break-and-enter

The Edmonton Police Service (EPS) has arrested one male and recovered a stolen vehicle in relation to a recent break-and-enter.

On Sunday, Aug. 20, 2023, police responded to a reported break-and-enter at the Al Shamal Shriners located at 14511-142 Street. Officers learned that on Saturday, Aug. 19, 2023, a male suspect entered a fenced compound and stole a grey Dodge Ram 3500 truck that belonged to the Shriners. On Sunday, Aug 20, 2023, the suspect returned to the location in the same Dodge Ram truck with a second male suspect. Both suspects left the Dodge Ram truck behind, then stole a white Ford F-250 parked in the yard.  Complete details of the initial media release can be found here.

On Tuesday, Aug. 22, 2023, police conducted a traffic stop on the stolen Ford F-250 and arrested themale who was driving it. Police charged 27-year-old Riley Garrett with numerous criminal offenses, including possession of stolen property.

Police continue to seek the second suspect, described as a white male standing approximately 5’8 to 5’10” tall. He was wearing black shoes with white soles, black track pants, a black wind breaker style jacket, and a baseball hat. He was also carrying a black backpack.
