Const. Scott Bailey, a six-year member with the EPS, is facing one count of assault causing bodily harm pursuant to Sec. 267 (b) of the Criminal Code of Canada. These charges are related to an off-duty incident that occurred on Sunday, Feb. 20, 2022 and was investigated by the EPS Domestic Offender Crimes Section (DOCS). Non-life-threatening injuries were reported by the complainant at the time and both parties are known to one another.
Const. Bailey was arrested the day of the incident and released on an undertaking. He was on leave at the time of the incident and has remained on leave since. His duty status is currently under review.
Following the completion of the court proceedings, a Police Service Regulation (PSR) investigation by the EPS Professional Standards Branch will commence, as per EPS protocol.
As the matter is currently before the courts, the EPS is not able to provide further comment or information about the incident or investigation.
