It was reported to police that at approximately 7:20 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 4, 2022, a man and his two young children were walking westbound on Jasper Avenue in the area of 92 Street when an unknown male approached them and began making comments about the children. The man reportedly placed himself between the suspect and his kids and asked the man to leave. The suspect then reportedly grabbed the father, stabbed him and fled the area on foot.
The family managed to walk to a nearby gas station where police were called, and first aid was provided by officers until EMS arrival. EMS then treated and transported the 31– year-old father to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. He has since been released and continues to recover. The two children, a five-year-old girl and a six-year-old boy, were not injured.
Investigators have been unable to identify or locate the suspect and are releasing a sketch of the man in hopes that someone may be able to identify him.
Stabbing suspect
The suspect is described as a white male in his mid-30s, approximately 6’3” tall with a slim build, blonde hair and a blonde moustache.
