Officers
from the Major Collision Investigations Section (MCIS) are investigating a fatal
head-on collision at 17 Street and 246 Avenue, that has killed a man and a
woman.
At
approximately 10:30 p.m. last night (June 12, 2020), a 39-year-old male was
operating a motorcycle northbound on 17 Street with a 37-year-old female
passenger and collided head-on with a southbound Ford Focus. Both were
pronounced deceased at the scene.
The collision occurred in the northbound lanes and speed is being investigated as a factor.
The 39-year-old female driver of the vehicle sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries. She was attended to by paramedics at the scene and taken to hospital.
MCIS officers continue to investigate.
