The Edmonton Medical Examiner has confirmed that Gearard Wright, 20, of Edmonton, died from a stab wound early Sunday morning, with the manner of death being homicide. Wright sustained life-threatening injuries during an early-morning altercation that occurred in the Ermineskin neighbourhood near 24 Avenue and 104 Street, at approximately 1:50 a.m., Sunday, Jan. 20, 2019.
Homicide detectives continue to investigate, and are encouraging anyone with information about the suspect(s) involved and/or the incident to contact the police at 780-423-4567 or #377 from a mobile phone. Upon arrival, police found an injured male lying on the ground outside of an apartment complex. The male was eventually pronounced deceased on scene by EMS paramedics.
