The Edmonton Police Service Homicide Section has arrested and charged a 29-year-old Edmonton man with first degree murder in connection with the shooting death of Nexhmi “Nick” Nuhi, 76, on Sept. 13, 2017.
Jared Bird, 29, was arrested without incident and taken into custody Wednesday, April 18, 2018.
Homicide investigators have also issued a province-wide warrant for alleged co-accused Cecil Tompkins, 37, of Edmonton, (see photo below) wanted for first degree murder in Nuhi’s death.

Background:
Nexhmi “Nick” Nuhi, 76, was found deceased inside a multi-level residence near 111 Avenue and 94 Street on Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2017, with a gun-shot wound. Later the Edmonton Medical Examiner confirmed the cause of death to be a gun-shot wound.
