A 40-year-old man sustained life-threatening injuries when he was struck in a marked crossed walk at 82 Street and 128A Avenue around 8:10 p.m. on Oct 5, 2017. The vehicle, which was travelling southbound on 82 Street, did not stop and left the scene. An astute citizen safely followed the vehicle, providing police with the license plate number, but lost sight of it at 66 Street and 128 Avenue where the truck was last seen travelling at a high rate of speed.
Investigators are asking the public for information that could help them locate the suspect vehicle and driver.
The EPS is looking for a white 2011 Ford F-250 Superduty crew pickup truck with a long box with construction bars in the box. It's believed the truck may have front end damage as a result of the collision. It was also reported that the back of the truck had lettering or letter decals of “Backrack,” has tinted windows, was heavily covered in white/grey dust, with the license plate BDC 1081.
