Police investigate fatal single-vehicle collision on 127 Street

The Edmonton Police Service is investigating a fatal single-vehicle collision that occurred this afternoon on 127 Street in Northwest Division.

Northwest Division officers responded to a single-vehicle collision near 133 Avenue and 127 Street today, Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2017, at approximately 1:10 p.m.

 

It was reported to police that a Kia Rio carrying three occupants travelling northbound on 127 Street lost control near 133 Avenue. The vehicle then jumped the east-side curb and travelled through a parking lot before colliding with a business front.

 

Paramedics treated and transported a 67-year-old female passenger to hospital where she later succumbed to her injuries. The 34-year-old female driver and a second female passenger sustained non-life-threatening injuries in the collision.

 

Major Collision Investigation Unit has since taken over the investigation. This marks Edmonton’s 21st fatal collision of 2017.
