At approximately 4 a.m. this morning, Monday, Sept. 25, 2017, West Division officers responded to a single-vehicle collision on Whitemud Drive.
It was reported that a car was driving westbound on Whitemud Drive when it struck a concrete barrier in the area of 149 Street. The collision reportedly caused the car to catch fire and ejected the male driver from the vehicle. The driver had succumbed to his injuries when officers arrived on scene.
Speed is believed to be a factor in this collision.
Whitemud Drive westbound from Fox Drive to 149 Street remains closed as EPS Traffic Section investigates. Motorists are advised to find alternate travel routes.
