EPS and City partners sit down with Alberta Avenue residents to address crime issues

The Edmonton Police Service, in conjunction with the City of Edmonton’s Office of Citizen Services, are hosting a community event this evening to empower residents of Alberta Avenue to take an active role in crime prevention.

This event will address the concerns of residents who have been victims of crime, to encourage them to become involved in their community. Information will also be presented to highlight the importance of reporting crimes, regardless of their nature. 

Members of the Edmonton Police Service, City of Edmonton Safety Integration Team, City of Edmonton Avenue Revitalization Team, Crimestoppers and Neighborhood Watch will be in attendance to address questions and concerns.

Alberta Avenue residents and media are invited to attend this evening’s event.

Where: Alberta Avenue Community League (9210 118 Avenue)

When: Tonight, Mar. 17, 2016 from 6:30 – 9 p.m.

Program: 6:30 - 7 p.m. – Refreshments and networking

7 - 8 p.m. – “Tell your story” facilitated discussion

 8 - 8:15 p.m. – Break and opportunity for media interviews

8:15 - 8:30 p.m. – EPS presentation

8:30 - 8:45 p.m. – Community connection presentation

8:45 - 9 p.m. – “We believe in our community” sign distribution
